Going Green the Easy Way
February 14th, 2008

Everybody seems to be going green.  I personally think its great. The ability to recycle, reduce and reuse (which I believe is someone’s motto) makes sense.  The problem is every feels its costs a fortune to go green.  The reality is we all don’t have to be Ed Beagley Junior.  If  we ran simply statistics of what needs to be done, it really isn’t a lot.
Let me explain.  For those who know, I drive a Chevrolet Suburban.  Now I don’t drive this because I like driving a tank that gets 17 miles to the gallon, I drive it because we travel with 3 kids in car seats plus luggage and everything that kids need for a trip.  Also if anything happens to the minivan, I know Im covered.  Now I would love to get a car that gets 25-35 miles a gallon, but at this time I cant.  So what do I do.

Slowly, in fact without my know every light in the house was changed out with CF bulbs.  I leave more recyclables out on the curb, as we do reuse and recycle more then ever.  The Thermostat has come down, and I where more sweaters when its cold, instead of cranking the heat up.

The above didn’t cost me much at all.  Now is more of us can that, imagine how we could all lower are carbon foot print.
Those who can look into hybrids, solar power, alternative fuels (bio-diesel and ethenol), telecommuting, recirculating systems for our water…. God bless you, but for those of you that can’t look at the the small stuff.

Thank you in advance as it is all of our planet
